HD Foundation upholds the belief that “education creates character, and education changes the future.” It is committed to promoting innovation and diversity in the educational ecosystem within the context of global sustainable development.

We support the holistic growth of all children and adolescents, empowering them to explore and lead philanthropic projects in various fields, and finally, cultivating globally-fluent Chinese who lead, innovate and impact.

People, Education and Impact

HD Foundation will focus on three main sections: “Education,” “People,” and “Impact” 

Education, which includes the popularization of educational infrastructure, the accessibility and enhancement of educational elements and resources, the construction and innovative development of the educational ecosystem, and the improvement and innovation of educational practices. 

People, which focuses on the means of the development of children and adolescents. It encompasses safeguarding a healthy access to education, and growth and development of both ordinary and special children and adolescents.  Impact, by establishing the I-Lab, an incubation platform to empower students’ philanthropic efforts, and a series of supporting system, we hope to enhance our students’ awareness about philanthropy,  and empower them to lead, innovate,  and finally,  making an impact in our community in the future.

Make an Impact

Since the founding of first HD school in Ningbo in 2014, guiding students to engage in public welfare and benefit the world has always been part of the cultural DNA of HD/HT schools.

The spirit of making an impact for a better world is evident everywhere in HD/HT schools. These include the “Seeking Light” initiative at HD Beijing School, the “Giving Light Plan” at HD Ningbo School, HD Shanghai Schools’ “Jeans Day” to support children with congenital heart disease, HD Qingdao School’s “New Year Charity Fair”.

In May of 2024, HD Ningbo School students organized the eighth cycling event for charity, which attracted nearly 400 participants to raise funds for children with leukemia from underprivileged families.

In June of 2024, HD Shanghai School staged the musical “Shan Hai Jing” at the China Grand Theatre. The event also invited a hundred disabled children to attend the performance and experience the beauty of art with HD students and teacher.

Since 2024, the parents and students community of HD Beijing School has collaborated with “Changcheng Xiaozhan” to regularly donate stuff to the Waijingou Central School in Xiaonanxinbao Town, Huailai County, Hebei Province, as well as the Wulonggou Central Primary School in Laiyuan County, Hebei Province.

In April 2024, Qingdao HD School held a “Global Battle Against Plastic” public welfare campaign around Earth Day, students from all grades of the school formed teams to pick up litter and created clothing from recyclable materials, expressing their care for others and the environment through their actions.

The “Spring Gathering” public welfare carnival at HT Nanjing Impact Academy attracted enthusiastic participation from parents and companies to raise funds for the people in need of help.

Moreover, the charity has become a habit for HD/HT schools, and embedded in the curriculum and every moment of school life.

HD Ningbo School’s, the bracelet project (entitled “The Magic of Love”) for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease project combines project-based learning with the school’s design thinking curriculum, leading students to design and knit anti-lost bracelets for elderly people with Alzheimer’s disease.

And the profits generated from HD Shanghai School’s “Math Trade Day” were also used to fund a rehabilitation center for children suffering from autism.

Public welfare is an indispensable part behind a series of courses and activities such as HD Qingdao School’s New Year market and Nanjing HT Impact Academy’s public welfare music festival.

As Li Zhencun, the Chief Academic Director of Elite K12 Educaton said, “Giving children a heart of compassion, sympathy, and kindness is far more important than all the knowledge and skill-oriented education. It is a beam of light that shines throughout our growth and life, which finally illuminate our future and life.
